Sand Dollars

Guys and Girls--Nice things may get ruined, lost or taken. This is a beautiful island and a beautiful little town, but it is a high theft area. I was warned of this before my big move--so I bought this ~$20 wallet from Fossil. It repels water and it has a strong leather strap. Perfect for my wrist as I ride my bike around town. My cell fits inside and my keys attached to the zipper. High quality, clean, safe, and simple living.

Moving to an island can be exciting and intimidating at the same time. Although I'd visited Hawaii before--I wasn't sure how I'd survive without my goose feather comforter, my amazingly comfortable and highly coveted bed, and especially my favorite heels. I hate to say it, but I had become one of those high-maintenance people who needed the best of the best to feel satisfied with life. I tried to keep up with spoiled roommates and friends, and amusingly failed. I was told that I would go stir crazy among several other biased statements and assumptions. For instance; "You will hate the bugs!" "You will want to get off the island." "You wont last long." "You might get sick" "You might get taken" "You might get robbed" "You might die in a hurricane" "You might blah blah buh blah."

While I appreciated every warning and knew my friends were only looking out for me--I needed to find out for myself.

I've never made a better decision in my life. If you have the opportunity to come to Hawaii as a student-- COME!
